Perfumery
Conventionally, the structure of perfumes is made of three olfactory level into a virtual pyramid.
HEAD NOTES = FRESHNESS AND IMMEDIACY
The first notes to emerge, powerfully yet fading immediately to make way for the following passage. They are produced by raw materials of weak persistence, which express freshness and immediacy, such as citrus and aromatic herbs.
HEART NOTES = INTENSITY
These are the main notes that characterise the fragrances, giving it a distinct character. They are produced by raw materials of medium persistence, which express intensity, such as flowers and fruits.
BASE NOTES = CHARACTER AND PERSISTENCE
These notes are the most long-lasting; they affect the deeper senses, generating in the customer a sense of loyalty to the product. They are produced by raw materials that express character and persistence, such as wood, spices and amber.
